PARTNER · TOOLS · JULY 2026
THE QUESTION
THE ANSWER
+71%THIS JULY OVER LAST JULY, FULL MONTH · CLOSED AT $82,081 AND 18.1% TACOS
> WHAT WE WALKED INTO
A tools partner arrived with ads that had been idle for months, by the owner’s own account. The reflex with an idle account is to turn the budget back up. We did the opposite first, because every click the account was still paying for landed on listings written years ago, and buying more of those clicks would have bought more of the same bounce. Copy first, bids second, in that order. The account runs in the $70K to $80K a month range, so the percentages below sit on real dollars.
> THE MOMENT · THE TURNAROUND, AS LOGGED
> STEP 01
Listing by listing, titles and bullets rewritten for the queries buyers use: 127 buyable listings carried the new copy by June. The listings changed before the spend did, which is the only way to know later which one moved the number.
> STEP 02
By early June, account conversion had roughly doubled to the 4.1% range off the copy updates, with ad conversion at an account high near 3.1%. Dashboard reads, so they carry a tilde. 4.1% is not a high rate for the category. It is roughly double what the account was doing before the rewrite, which is the number that matters here.
> STEP 03
May closed near $72K at roughly 20% TACOS. Prime Day 2026 then did about $11K over its four days, up 26% on the four before, with ad spend eased about 22% and the ad-attributed share of sales down from 78% to 41%. None of that is a headline. It is the floor the July number stands on.
> STEP 04
The mid-July log had the month pacing 89% over July 2025. The close told it straight: $82,081 at 18.1% TACOS, up 71% on last July and up 9% on June, and June had Prime Day in it. The partner got the corrected number in the close-out, in writing, because a case built on the mid-month read would have carried 18 points of fiction. The partner’s own review credited the work and asked for TACOS to keep coming down, which is the right ask, and the reason this file does not end here.

US DOLLARS, ROUNDED · PRIME DAY 2026 FELL IN JUNE
MAY ~$72K, JUNE ~$75K, JULY $82,081, FROM THE ACCOUNT’S OWN REPORTING. JULY 2025 IS NOT PLOTTED BECAUSE ITS DOLLAR FIGURE IS NOT IN OUR LOG; THE +71% IS THE CLOSED-MONTH COMP.
